Dried figs and walnuts give this homemade bar its character. Soft fruit, generous nuts, bright zest. Remove the hard fig stems before blending.

What you’ll need

  • Almond buttertree nuts70 g
  • Flaxseeds35 g
  • Orange zest8 g

A little for the planet : choose organic, local ingredients whenever you can.

Let’s make it

  1. Line a roughly 20 × 20 cm tin with baking paper. The mixture will make 10 bars about 2 cm thick.
  2. Remove the tough fig stems, chop the walnuts and zest the orange, avoiding the white pith.
  3. Mash two thirds of the figs with almond butter; mix in the remaining figs, walnuts, flaxseed and zest.
  4. Press down firmly with the back of a glass and chill for at least 2 hours.
  5. After chilling, lift the slab out and cut into 10 bars. Keep in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 5 days.

Tip : Remove the hard fig stems before blending.
